The “Glen” Breton lives…
Back in April I commented on the legal defeat that Glenora Distilleries had been dealt that would have forced them to remove “Glen” from the brand name of their Glen Breton single-malt scotch whisky. This tiny scotch producer based in Cape Breton is the only single-malt scotch producer in North America and the Scotch Whisky Association (SWA) had sued them to rename their product as it was “misleading” as the term “Glen” falsely indicated that the product originated in Scotland.
Fortunately the Federal Court of Appeals did not side with the SWA so the Cape Breton producer gets to keep it’s name as is.
On a related note, I have had the opportunity to sample Glen Breton 10 year old and it is a surprisingly smooth scotch for it’s age.

First off is a few snapshots from Sarah’s 5th Month birthday (if you can really call it that)
The next is photos from our visit to Toby & Jenn’s new trailer that they just bought and had moved to Madoc last weekend. The place is awesome and we hope we’re invited back later this summer when the place is in full swing.
And of course, the latest photos are from this long weekend at the Rock, which although Mother Nature kept it a little on the cool side, we managed to enjoy the outdoors as much as possible. This weekend also marked Sarah’s first visit to our little piece of paradise in Northern Ontario.
Beware the Blinking Llama!
At Braden’s daycare this week they had some special visitors–farm and exotic animals. At the end of the day when I picked Braden up he was completely excited to tell me all about the animals he liked, the “ba-ba sheep” and the “cowzzz”… but the funniest part was when he told me that he didn’t like the Llama because it was too “blinky”!!! I know this story doesn’t have quite the same comedic effect compared to Braden telling it, but I am still giggling…
Glen Breton fight continues…
Glen Breton, the only single malt whisky made in North America has lost a court battle to keep the word "Glen" in its trademark name. Glenora Distillery , based in Cape Breton, is locked into a battle with the Scotch Whisky Association claiming that the word "Glen" is reserved solely for whiskies produced in Scotland.

Improv Everywhere: Little League Hits the Big League
This is just too brilliant to not share with everyone. The latest mission from Improv Everywhere was to take a little league baseball game in California and make it a BIG TIME game. Check out their site for the details, but they brought in the Goodyear blimp, had NBC bring a broadcast team and mobile Jumbotron screen to the ball diamond, added maniac fans to the stands, vendors giving away pizza & popcorn, etc… BRILLIANT!
