Dion as PM…really?
With the Harper Conservatives on their knees and about to relinquish control of the House of Commons to a rag-tag coalition of Liberals, NDP’ers and separatist Bloq MP’s I can only hope that the first order of business for the new government is to enroll Stephane Dion into an English class so that we can understand what our next Prime Minister is actually saying…
I must applaud the Liberal/NDP/BQ coalition for the impeccable timing of their political coup and the sheer wonders it will have on our equity markets and economy in general… here’s to exacerbating an already turbulent economic rollercoaster Dion, Layton & Duceppe!

I am absolutely disgusted by the Toronto District School Board’s (TDSB) decision to introduce Afro-centric schools…Â it absolutely flies in the face of all the racial advances over the last 100 years and is a complete cop-out to dealing with the root cause of why so many visible minorities are being left behind academically.
Shame on your TDSB!

As for the pathetic 50% voter turnout I believe it’s time to lower the voting age to 16 to get high school students engaged in the political process earlier. If they are responsible enough to get behind the wheel of a potentially deadly vehicle, they are responsible enough to help elect a few politicians into power…

Michael Moore/Sicko blasts CNN…
I have yet to see Michael Moore’s latest documentary Sicko but I have been definitely impressed with his relentless attack on the mainstream US media for their “in bed with big business / government” stance (e.g. Iraq “War”, health care, etc). If you haven’t seen the latest exchange between Moore and CNN’s Wolf Blitzer, you should take a minute to view it as it is priceless.
Immediatly prior to the interview with Moore, CNN airs a segment by their own “Dr. Gupta” that purportedly pokes holes in the facts used in Sicko–that night Michael Moore’s team posted a line by line rebuttal to the CNN story and they make a complete and compelling case.

Stéphane Dion…Really?
I don’t have a particular allegiance to any political party at the Federal level but I must say that I am disappointed with the selection of Stéphane Dion as the new leader of the Liberal party–talk about shooting yourself in the foot. With Dion at the head of the party they really don’t stand a chance at dethroning Harper’s Conservative government in the next election.
To paraphrase a quite humourous clip I heard earlier today regarding Dion’s election:

WWI Veteran to Get State Funeral
The Canadian Parliament did something right today…they unanimously passed the motion to hold a State Funeral for the last surviving WWI Veteran. This successful motion is the direct result of the online petition launched by the Dominion Institute on November 6th in which over 100,000 Canadians signed in two weeks.
